In the wake of a blowout loss to the Chiefs on Sunday and reports that Mike Shanahan was ready to quit the Redskins at the end of the 2012 season, the daily press conferences with the Redskins head coach have been outstanding television this week, especially on Tuesday after it was announced that Kirk Cousins would be starting Sunday’s game in Atlanta.

Shanahan approached the presser as an attempt to be more forthright with the media. He finally admitted he was wrong to play RGIII in Washington’s playoff loss to Seattle last year. In addition to claiming that the decision to start Cousins was not made unilaterally by him, Shanahan let fly these masterful works of artful bullshit:

That’s right; Mike Shanahan is the first coach in the history of the NFL to not talk to reporters off the record.

It’s getting to the point that I don’t want Dan Snyder to accept Shanahan’s dare to fire him because this fiasco just gets more entertaining every day.
