Washington’s trip to Oakland in Week 4 landed the Redskins their first win of the season. More than that, it also gave their general manager, Bruce Allen, a wonderful idea about improving the atmosphere at the Redskins’ home stadium, renowned pit of despair that is FedEx Field.

As Chris Cooley explained in a radio appearance, the team hosts a pep rally before games on the road for ‘Skins fans in those cities. Accompanying Cooley for the pep rally in Oakland were Snyder stooge Larry Michael and Allen.

“It was so much fun. We’ve done it a couple weeks in a row. We did it in Green Bay… In Green Bay, Bruce says, Hey, I’m Bruce Allen, it’s great to be here, here’s Chris Cooley. Throws me under the bus. But Oakland was much better, because Bruce [worked] in Oakland, he had a big thing to do in Oakland. So he said, I want to talk to these people.

“He gets up. I talk normal — I can’t do this pumped-up talk — but Bruce is a politician at this. Gets both his hands up in the air: WE LOVE THE REDSKINS!!!! I INVENTED THE BLACK HOLE IN OAKLAND – this is what he says – AND NOW I WANT TO GET THE BURGUNDY HOLE IN WASHINGTON D.C.

Th underlying idea of having a crazy fan section full of costumed assholes similar to the Black Hole isn’t the worst idea. Just might want to work on the name, is all. Still, can’t be any worse than the Colts’ “Pinking of the Canal” for breast cancer awareness.
