Rivers Is A Vision

Sorry not sorry, but this image has been stuck in my head ever since NFL.com columnist Marc Sessler said, “Philip Rivers has been a vision.” Oh yeah, and someone said Philly Rivers poised to surpass Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger as the head of the 2004 quarterback class, which is about as believable as a unicorn. Despite a respectable 4-1 start to the season, the Colts aren’t getting a lot of respect on the national stage behind the young arm of Andrew Luck.

While not as flamboyant as Rex Ryan versus Rob Ryan, we get Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano playing against his brother John Pagano who is the San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator. (Since it’s Columbus Day, feel free to pretend that notorious Genovese crime family member Daniel Pagano is a lost third brother watching the game home on TV, frustrated he cannot speak to his siblings without ruining all of their lives.)

Personally, aside of the actually football game (and the hope I’ll get 70 points out of Danny Woodhead so I don’t lose to Ape in fantasy football), I’m watching to see how many more times Rick Reilly put his foot in his mouth tonight. While typing up this post I flipped ESPN just as Reilly was wrapping up a story about Adam Vinatieri bow and arrow hunting lions during the offseason (what?) and Chris Berman responding to the story with a Little Big Horn reference. Nothing like watching two media giants trolling Bob Costas on national television.
