Following an afternoon in which Jim Irsay clamored for attention on Twitter because there was big Colts news afoot, it was announced that the Browns dealt running back Trent Richardson to Indianapolis for a first-round pick. Given that Richardson was the third overall pick of the 2012 draft, the Browns are losing some value here, as it’s highly doubtful that the Colts will be drafting in the top 10 in 2014.

Nevertheless, here we are again with the Browns giving up and starting over. Not long ago, the prospect of new ownership and the bounty of draft picks obtained in the Julio Jones trade with the Falcons made it seem like there was an opportunity to actually make the Browns respectable. Now that’s all gone and they might even be worse off than before. But, hey, they have more than one first rounder again! Oh wait, Mike Lombardi is still their GM…
