Very kind of this game to take an hour off for the nation to take in “Breaking Bad”, be traumatized then return for more grueling grind-out defensive football full of hits and not points.
Prior to the break, the Niners blocked a Seahawks punt that was caused by a whistle throwing off the linemen waiting to block. Pete Carroll pitched a fit but those complaints are bound to fall on deaf ears, so to speak, when you’re playing at home, especially before a crowd trying to break a world record in making noise.
Then the hour delay came and we were all like:
Eventually, the lightning subsided and “Low Winter Sun” came on, meaning it was time to gt back to football. Russell Wilson didn’t get his first completion until a minute into the second quarter, but it went to an uncovered Marshawn Lynch along the left sideline for 35 yards deep into Niners’ territory. They couldn’t get any points out of it, but they pinned San Francisco deep in their own side of the field.
This, of course, led to the latest highlight in the YEAR OF SAFETIES as San Francisco was called for holding in their end zone. Colin Kaepernick was later strip-sacked on their own end of the field, allowing Seattle to tack on a field goal to push their halftime lead to a robust almost-touchdown lead.
I want more like this!
