Even though the Bills spent the weekend acquiring such quarterbacking phenoms as Matt Leinart and Thad Lewis, head coach Doug Marrone announced on Monday that he’s planning to start undrafted rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel against the Patriots in Week 1. Why not? If you know you’re going to lose, why not do so in the most stupefying and pathetic way possible?

Not only is this hilarious because Peter King already this morning proclaimed that he’s anticipating the start of the Matt Leinart era in Buffalo, but the Bills are turning to a quarterback that is so unknown, he doesn’t have his own Wikipedia page. That’s a remarkable lack of notoriety. Even our stupid site has one.

Of course, now that Tuel has been named starter of an NFL team (albeit the Bills), his lack of presence on Wikipedia should be remedied – and shortly thereafter vandalized – by the end of the day. Which is good. I wish Jeff Tuel all the success, if only to see soft focus TV stories about how Jeff Tuel overcame the plight of not having his own Wikipedia page. Much more inspiring than Kurt Warner, in my opinion.
