The Giants were moving the ball, at least between the 20s, seemingly at will thoroughout the first half, but it was one of those games where a team dominates early but settles for field goals or squandered scoring opportunities outright. By the time the Redskins defense was actually able to keep New York from mounting 10-play drives on each possession, the ‘Skins had taken the lead. The Giants tried their luck at their own Ray Rice miracle play with a dump pass to Ahmad Bradshaw on a 3rd and 20 with four and a half minutes left in the game, but the Redskins defense displayed higher than Chargers levels of competence, stopping Bradshaw well short of the marker.

So the NFC East remains a race for the time being. For the sake of competitive December games, that’s a good thing. For the sake of Dan Snyder beating his chest with his underlings, perhaps less so.
