Not accepting Joey Porter’s bad checks? THAT’S DISRESPECT! The former star linebacker with the Steelers and Dolphins was last seen in the NFL recording all of 16 tackles in six games with Arizona in 2011 before announcing his retirement. Apparently, life since football isn’t going swimmingly, as Peezy was arrested late last week for passing bad checks.

Former NFL star Joey Porter was arrested Friday night in Bakersfield on a felony warrant out of Clark County, Nev., for writing a check with non-sufficient funds.

Lt. Scott Tunnicliffe of the Bakersfield Police Department said Porter, who retired from pro football after last season, was pulled over on a traffic stop at 9:46 p.m. Friday at the corner of Etchert and Calloway in west Bakersfield.

The Kern County Sheriff’s website showed that Porter was still in custody as of Sunday night. A message left by The Californian with the Clark County Sheriff’s department Sunday was not returned.

That’s a bad look from the former Corporate Peezy. But at least it’s not a violent offense. It might be a rough holiday for him, but Peezy should be all right in the long run. We all know white-collar crime only merits a slap on the wrist in this country.
