For most of a half, the Eagles defensive issues seemed to disappear. It wasn’t until Dallas’ last drive of the half that they hit a pass to either Miles Austin or Dez Bryant. It hasn’t been great for Philly on offense, but the progress that Bryce Brown has had has negated DeMarcus Ware’s pass rush off the end. Also, he’s scored twice and that’s surely impactful, without the frustrating fumbling he did a week ago against the Panthers.
After DeMarco Murray crashed into the end zone with under a minute in the half to close the lead to a single score, the Eagles put together an efficient drive to close out the half that ended with Alex Henery hitting a 43-yard kick to extend the Eagles’ lead to a full touchdown going into the half.
So far it’s been a fine showing for future Cowboys coach Andy Reid. The final drive of the half wasn’t a total disaster. And the Eagles made the most with mostly reserves playing at skill positions. That’s surely enough to secure him a few seasons of terrible coaching for America’s Team.
