As anyone who has watched any amount of television over the past few weeks knows, Peyton Manning appeared in a commercial for Papa John’s in which he creepily calls the pizza chain’s owner “Papa” instead of John for some reason, and attempts to get him to give away two million free pizzas. What you may not know, however, is that Manning has gotten into the pizza business himself recently, signing a deal to open 21 Papa John’s franchises in the Denver area. (NOTE: I like to think that after he did this Eli immediately ran out and bought a Chuck E. Cheese.) Why am I bringing this two week old story to your attention, you ask? Because this happened last night:

Colorado and Washington passed referendums legalizing marijuana for recreational use, becoming the first states in the country to legalize the drug, according to ABC News.

The initiatives would allow marijuana to be cultivated and for special stores to sell up to an ounce to individuals 21 and older. [...]

“It’s unprecedented,” Jonathan Caulkins, a Carnegie Mellon University professor, told The Denver Post. He said the change would put Colorado to the left of the Netherlands when it comes to marijuana policy. [ABC]
