Dez Bryant is at long last a True Cowboy. Sure, the receiver has had his share of run-ins with the law, including the time a couple RAYCESS off-duty cops at a high-end mall in Dallas gave him a criminal trespass warning for not exiting when he was told. But now Dez is beginning to realize his potential with his first arrest. Granted, it’s just a misdemeanor charge, but it’s a misdemeanor charge for shoving his mother.
A source said late Monday night that Bryant, in an argument with his half brother, wound up pushing his mother, Angela. According to the source, police responded to a call on Saturday night, but no arrests were made at that point. Further examination of the reports resulted in Monday’s arrest, the source said.
Bryant confirmed the incident to WFAA-TV in Dallas on Monday, but he would not go into specifics.
“I’m good. I’m good,” he said.
That’s a tremendous post-arrest quote. Now entering his third year, Dez has shown only brief flashes of the Irvin-esque superstardom that is only possible with the Cowboys, both on and off the field. But this could be the year that he ties it all together. Though hopefully that doesn’t mean taking scissors to a teammate’s neck.
