Here’s Hines Ward during his rookie shoot in 1998, back when he wore the number 15 and apparently leaped through the uprights for fun. How young he was then. So many people yet to blindside. Anyway, the Steelers released him today, but will still allow Hines to escape the imploding sinkhole of Heinz Field this summer as a member of the Gotham Rogues.

Hines was my favolite Steeler too. Hopefully he comes back as a coach.

On a more serious note, I will be super pissed if this still results in Mike Wallace not getting re-signed.

El Cunado: Rod Smith wasn’t very good… at self-aggrandizing. I watched Smith his whole career; it’s close, but I’d take him on my team over Ward. Undrafted, two rings, returned punts late in his career when needed, was the emergency QB.

I won’t be seeing “The Dark Knight Rises” because I can only push my suspension of disbelief so far, and while that includes psychopaths dressed like scarecrows and clowns and a grown man dressed as a bat, I draw the line at Hines Ward running past defenders. That hasn’t happened since…ever.
