I say it’s a good thing, after all Donovan McNabb was starting to get a bit too comfortable. And if anyone knows how to handle an ex-con in need of guidance its gotta be Andy Reid, right? I guess we’ll see. Vick’s deal lasts two years, although the terms haven’t been released. [ESPN] UPDATE: Jay Glazer reports the terms of the deal, $1.6 million for one year with a team option for the second year valued at $5.2 million.

This website has its biases, but given that the six guys who run it are fans of the Vikings, Steelers, Redskins, Seahawks, Raiders and Bengals, and the readers have allegiances all over the place, there’s not really a deep-seated pro-Eagles or anti-Giants bias.

I’m still not sure why everyone thinks this will be a disaster from the McNabb perspective. Did the Eagles sign Vick to play some QB? Sure, eventually, but not as their starter. Even before the whole dog fighting mess, Vick was an inferior QB to McNabb. And now he hasn’t even played in two years. Call me crazy, but I doubt even Donovan McNabb – sensitive, self conscious Donovan – is worried about his job security. They signed Vick because he gives them options. Talented, athletic, and possibly sociopathic options, but options none the less. Could this be a disaster? Of course. It’s Michael Vick. But there is a much better chance that this will ultimately improve the Eagles rather than hurt them.
