I loved how they referred to them as “salons.” It’s nothing unsavory, just a casual meeting of the minds (with wine! and probably cheese!) between the paper’s staff and the people they are supposed to cover, with just a small charge for admission that will in no way affect the coverage of D.C. movers and shakers. News is really just PR, so what’s the problem?
