Joe Namath + Autotune = Post
In the immortal words of Nasir Jones, “F*#k Jay Z.” Sure, Jay can still bring it, but if everyone listened to him we wouldn’t have a gem like this from DJ Steve Porter. The video is heavy on AI (with good reason) before venturing into our domain. First comes the remix of Jim Mora’s legendary “Playoffs?” explosion, then there’s Mike Gundy’s fantastic rant. Eventually (around the 3:30 mark) we get to the good stuff. Namath. Kolber. Autotuned. Enjoy.
Thanks to reader Tomas for sending this our way.

Masterful.

I love that moment Namath says “I want to kiss you” and the Matron Saint cringes just a little. I can see her thinking, “Yep. This here is EXACTLY the reason I munch rug.”

If you really like the “practice” rant, you should check out “Practice” by J-Live f. DJ Jazzy Jeff.
That’s right, I said it.

Matron Saint is the anchor for the four letter on Tennis coverage at Wimbledon. Adjust your schedules accordingly.

I wish I had had the foresight to skip straight to the Namath clip. Longest 3:20 ever.

Jim Mora can now put “Saved Autotune” on his tombstone.

If someone can tell me how this is any different or worse than what passes for hip-hop over the past 6-7 years, I’ll gladly buy a T.I. or Lil Wayne CD. Iverson wishes he’d had flow like that on his actual album.
Glorious.

I can’t wait for Jim Mora’s debut album “The Ginger Ale Chronicles, Part 1″ to drop.

Actuallly Nas played a clip of Tupac (from the dead) saying Fuck Jay-Z. that shit was good.

June 23rd, 2009 at 12:38 pm

June 23rd, 2009 at 1:02 pm
That was awesome.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:29 pm
Ho. Lee. Hell. That is Magnificent.
I downlaoded the mp3 linked in his youtube info. It comes with an instrumental, though it is not nearly as brilliant without Namath caring less about the team strug-a-ling.

i’m not sure the song was good enough to warrant a spot on an ipod, but for those that are asking for it, try putting the url into the above link. converts youtube audio to mp3. i haven’t used the application in a while, but assume it’s still working fine. it can be a useful tool, and you folks should be privy.

Pure gold.

Off topic, yes. But like Peter King, we need an ongoing thing about Wilbon and the fact he does’nt know shit about anything, especially pop culture. Tony, I’m uncomfortable about that, What’s Twitter? Fuck you Wilbon/gasbag.

Actually, it and vidtomp3.com, a sister site, are both dying. YouTube changed its terms of service, and it’s getting a little harder to download. But just a little.
Thanks to the guy who uploaded this for putting it out for whoever wanted it. I respect that move.

June 24th, 2009 at 5:09 am
Fantastic, but I was hoping for Jim Mora’s “diddly poo.” “Diddly poo” just screams “rap lyric.”
June 24th, 2009 at 10:34 am

The “Fuck Jay-Z” in Ether was actually a sound bite of Tupac. Good shit though.
