RE The Gooch:
Eh, the only good movies he made were “Under Siege” and that one where terrorists hijack a plane and fill it with nerve gas and then try to fly it into the eastern seaboard. And he died in the first 30 minutes of that one.

I may be missing one or two other decent Segal movies, but I can live with that. We’ll always have “Under Siege.”

I saw “Commando” again for the first time in a dozen years last week and it was GLORIOUS.

Great movie. Rae Don Chong, a (too) young Alyssa Milano, murder with garden tools, Bill Duke, that weirdo Australian actor from “Road Warrior”, that weirdo American actor from ” The Warriors”…

That movie gave me a phrase I use every day: “I like you, (insert name). That’s why I’m going to kill you last.”

Ah, Steven Segal.

I like, nay love, terrible movies as much as the next guy, but for whatever reason I could never get into Segal. I don’t know why, but his brand of awful just doesn’t do it for me. It’s probably my most glaring weakness in the guy’s guy pop culture canon.

I have, however, seen that cake scene.
