Somebody needed to put Davis on full alert. He’s got million-dollar talent and a 10-cent head game. Maybe if he’s scared for his life every week he’ll go ahead and block somebody or make an appearance in the 49ers passing game.

I saw this rant and immediately realized that all players in the NFL are now on notice. Mike Singletary just crated a precedent for all coaches to grow a pair and not only yank a player out of the game, but completely bitch them in front of their teammates, THEN banish them to the locker room for the rest of the game.

It helps that he’s still a badass that could probably KTFO a few running backs in the league today, but this was outstanding.

I guess Vernon Davis ain’t protecting this house anymore huh?

Cut to WAR STORY:

When I was in Korea as a SIGO we had Korean Augmentees to the United States Army, or KATUSAS. Generally hard-working kids whose parents bought them the position as opposed to the mandatory 2 years they would have to serve in the Korean regular army.

Anyway, the Korean Sergeant Major attached to each battalion used to tell those of us who had KATUSAS in our unit, “If you have problem (plobrem in Hines-speak) send them to me”. I never did, but I know one fellow SIGO who did.

Trust me, the guy came back with a WHOLE new attitude.

When I saw Singeltary go off on this rant last night, I actually cheered. I don’t even care about Davis, but to see a coach blast a prima donna was beautiful. Singeltary is the kind of coach we all want for our team.
