See, you just cannot get football AND Herzog AND Lars Von Trier references anywhere else. Except in “North Dallas Forty,” where the Mac Davis character and the Nick Nolte character compared and contrasted the two directors in a 20-minute segment that, sadly, ended up on the cutting room floor. But it’s in the director’s cut.
