Much to my shock, when I decided I wanted a gun there was no bin at the wal-mart where I could pick up high-powered rifles and handguns for six dollars and no permit. MarHar had to go through the same process everyone else did to get his FN five-seveN. He has a Licence To Carry, which is not the easiest thing in the world to get. Hell, regular folks get denied all the time (especially here in Assachusetts). The five-seveN can fire armor-piercing rounds, but Joe Jerkoff can’t buy that ammo unless he’s law enforcement or military, and even they have to deal with the BATFE.

You don’t have to love guns to understand how the process works. People like Freeman are the ignorant bunch who hear select words and make conclusions on assbackwards assumptions. And he compared MarHar to Columbine and Virginia Tech?! Get the fuck out of here. An upstanding guy and law-abiding citizen in MarHar who legally and responsibly owns a gun discharges it in a situation where all the facts are still not yet known. Columbine and VT are a couple of head-cases who went on a killing spree.

Freeman’s article is pure garbage, but what kind of idiot editor lets this thing print? Nice job ripping it apart, CC, but I don’t think it had enough dick jokes to get Buzz’s attention.

Brian, if you’d read some of the posts above, you would see that the rounds available to the public ARE NOT armor piercing. Yes, the gun is capable of firing armor piercing rounds (as are MANY guns available to the public), but the rounds are not available to the public. Capice? So blaming Harrison for owning a “cop killer” gun is silly. This gun is no more a “cop killer” than any typical .38 or .44 available. Read nonsubhomine’s post above.

I don’t get it. He’s saying that walking around packing heat, especially the kind of weapon which is specifically designed to pierce the body-armor worn by police, is NOT a good idea for a professional athlete. Do all the people in this thread actually agree with that?

The Second Amendment right to bear arms, regardless of what you might think of it personally, gives Harrison the right to carry the weapon (provided he has the correct permits, etc.). But just because he has the right to do it doesn’t mean he should be above reproach, or that an article questioning the wisdom of his decision is bad. A lot of things that are legal are bad ideas.

The way I see it, is that Harrison, even if he wants to carry a gun for his own protection, likely does NOT need what is widely known as a cop-killing gun. That’s common sense.

Oh, and the FJM-style bashing of the article wasn’t even funny.

Captain, you keep producing work like that, and you’re gonna have to explain to yo momma why KSK won its third award for best sports blog on the web. People in the MSM keep wondering why the criticism they get in the blogosphere is so withering. It’s because 1) having a fucking soap box doesn’t mean you actually have to mount the damn thing and say something, 2) if you do, it should be worthwhile, and 3) even if it’s not, it should be factually accurate.

It’s work like this that makes this site worthwhile. Thanks for your hard work and your duty as a jarhead.

Question for the house: how disturbed would the fuckup author be if the Colts player involved were Mr Manning? Intuition tells me it’d make Freeman so hot he’d make Peter King look like Mother Teresa.

This is by far the best response to come out of the marvin harrison thing I’ve seen so far. Great writing and no sensational exageration about the baby killing capabilities of the fn five seven. Plus its actually informed past some tired quote about cop killing potential.

Waffles = pastry. Mike Freeman, you’re an even bigger chode than I already thought you were.

Also, I’m not a gun buff or anything, and I’d probably pee myself if I were in a situation where I had to use one, but I love how he takes a statement about a gun being used by drivers and staff personnel and extrapolates that into an indicator of how powerful this weapon is.

As much as I hate guns this was not a blog about guns. It was a well written post that could have been about mike freeman’s ignorance toward Pokemon.
